About the Hospital

AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital is a 154-bed teaching and referral facility located in Elgeyo Marakwet County, delivering Christ-centered, compassionate healthcare to patients from across Kenya. The hospital performs over 1,800 surgical procedures and attends to more than 40,000 outpatients annually. It is owned and operated by the Africa Inland Church (AIC)–Kenya and hosts an on-site Medical Training College offering diploma programs in Nursing and Perioperative Technology. The hospital also serves as a teaching site for Family Medicine and General Surgery residents.

AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital is actively expanding its infrastructure—including housing, ward space, and clinical facilities—and launching new healthcare training programs. Among these is an innovative Surgical Team Development Program aimed at strengthening surgical capacity in under-resourced regions of sub-Saharan Africa.

We are therefore seeking qualified, experienced, and motivated individuals to join our team and support this exciting phase of growth in the following positions:

1. driver

We are seeking to recruit value-based mission driven individual with a high degree of professionalism to fill the position of Driver. The individual must have the right values, behaviors and attitudes that match those of AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital.

Key Responsibilities are:

  1. Safely transport patients, staff, and visitors as required.
  2. Deliver medical supplies, laboratory samples, and official documents.
  3. Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and serviced on time.
  4. Observe all traffic rules and internal safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain accurate vehicle logs and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  6. Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • KCSE Certificate, minimum grade D plain.
  • Valid D3 Driver's License with PSV endorsement.
  • Age: 35–45 years.
  • Added advantage: experience driving ambulances.
  • Proven knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics (e.g., identifying faults, checking oil and coolant levels, tire maintenance).
  • At least 10 years of driving experience, preferably in a hospital or corporate environment.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate and/or First Aid course certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Added advantage: Defensive Driving course.
  • Training from St. John Ambulance (or equivalent).
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication, reliability, and customer-care skills.
  • High level of availability, flexibility, and commitment to duty
  • Must be a practicing Christian wiling to adhere to, abide by and sign AIC statement of faith

2. clinical officer for the department of surgery

We are seeking a motivated Clinical Officer willing to learn unique and advanced technical skills in plastic surgery, with a focus on the assessment and management of nerve-related conditions

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine / BSc Clinical Medicine
  • Be a registered member of Clinical Offiicer's Council
  • Be a registered member of Clinical Officer’s Council.
  • Valid practice license
  • At least three (3) years of working experience.
  • Basic computer skills / EMR system
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and strong team working.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Interested in surgery/plastic surgery
  • Experience in care of surgical patients especially wounds and trauma
  • Certification in ACLS, ATLS is an added advantage
  • Must be a practicing Christian wiling to adhere to, abide by and sign AIC statement of faith
